“Implementation of the 2017–2027 Wildlife Habitat Management Plan in Areni Settlement of Areni Community, Vayots Dzor Region” Program

The goal of the program is to ensure the ecologically sustainable use of land in Areni village of Areni community. As part of the initiative, the following environmental measures are planned:

• Preserve biodiversity within the landscape, with a focus on improving the habitats of the Bezoar Goat, Armenian Mouflon, Brown Bear, and Caucasian Leopard.
• Support the community’s economic development by ensuring annual investments for growth.
• Prevent the expansion of vineyards and orchards into the natural habitats of the Armenian Mouflon and Bezoar Goat.
• Enhance livestock productivity within the rural community.
• Monitor the impact of the implemented measures on target species and overall biodiversity.
• Promote tourism development in the area.
