Gndasar is famous for its rare birds such as Caspian Snowcock / Tetraogallus caspius/ registered in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The Caspian Snowcock is an endemic species to Armenia which can be seen in the high mountains, traveling approximately 25 km off-road. In order to observe this endemic species, our experienced rangers will accompany you to the nesting place of the Caspian snowcock.

This heavy flying bird can easily avoid predators and quickly gain speed in flight while escaping from an enemy. The species is a year-round resident although makes some small vertical movements during winter time. Get out into nature with our rangers to find this rare species.
